JOEY KELLY & FAMILY - ON THE ROUTE ON THE PANAMERICANA

„I want to show my family the world, but especially the people. It won‘t be a vacation, it will be a shared challenge.“

With this in mind, Joey Kelly and his family – wife Tanja, sons Luke and Leon, and daughters Lillian and Lisann – are in a modified Camper Mercedes Benz 319, from Inuvik in northwest Canada, set to travel the Pan-American with no money for food or gas. The whole thing is financed by barter transactions and donations.

Depending on the route, the Panamericana is a road with a length of about 48,000 km, which connects northern North America with southern South America and crosses 14 - 19 countries.

Joey and his family complete the route in two stages. The first stage led in 2022 from Canada via the USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica to Panama City.

The second stage starts in January and includes the remaining route from Panama City to Tierra del Fuego.

The trip is accompanied by a camera team and a photographer. A nine-part TV documentary will be broadcast this year.
